The traditional method of new product development and manufacturing is to make the mould first, and then use the moulds for mass production. The leadtime of this method is very long and manufacturing cost is much high. it needs enough quantity to share the tooling cost.
However, with the rapid development of the Internet, small-batch production order become more and more common. Sometimes even only a few hundred in one order. If using the traditional method for manufacturing, the product cost will be very high.
To meet the needs of the current market, Bordersun has found a solution for small-batch production of plastic and metal products.
According to the operation environment and performance requirements of the product, we will choose different processing methods to adopted for different order quantity to reduce cost for customers.
Small-batch production methods include CNC machining, polyurethane casting and rapid injection molding. If the prototype quantity is less than 10pcs, we usually choose CNC machining to make the prototype. If the quantity is more than 20pcs and less than 100pcs, we usually choose polyurethane casting to make the prototypes. If the number is more than 100, we will consider making a rapid mold to make the prototypes.
